Stitch Fix assigns a personal stylist to pick 5 clothing or accessories to fit your taste/budget. Buy what you like and return what you don't like.
1. Fill out your Style Profile on Stitch Fix
2. Pick the date to receive your shipment
NOTE: you will be charged a $20 styling fee, but ONLY after you pick the date to receive your shipment AND that $20 will be applied as a credit toward anything you keep from your shipment.
3. Try everything on at home!
4. Buy what you like and return the rest
You have 3 days to decide and you’re only charged for these items when you tell Stitch Fix what you’re keeping and returning. Check out by logging in to your account to pay for those items you want to keep. The $20 styling fee will be applied as credit towards any items you purchase. If you buy all five items, you get 25% off the entire purchase!
Returns are simple! A prepaid mailing bag is included in your "Fix." All you have to do is drop it at any USPS mailbox. Stitch Fix clients enjoy free shipping both ways! This is such a bonus if you live in Hawaii, like me :)
5. Leave specific feedback for your stylist
If you choose to receive regularly scheduled shipments, Stitch Fix will automatically schedule the delivery date for your next shipment. You can always choose an alternative date or opt out of regularly scheduled shipments entirely.

Once you receive your Stitch Fix, try on all 5 pieces- decide what to keep and what to send back, provide detailed feedback about what worked and what didn't, and finally, send back any items in enclosed prepaid package via USPS:

"Liked the fabric, print ,design and color is perfect. Even the fit is perfect! I just couldn't do the length with my short frame (5'1"). On me, it looked too much like a too long blouse than a tunic"

"Liked the idea- but prefer something more structured. Price a bit too high for not having details like pockets or zippers. The front was too long on my 5'1" body. Have a similar vest in same color too"

As you can see, the length is too long for my short frame. I did not LOVE it, so I could not justify the price, which is $68 for each or if purchasing all 5 pieces, the price would be 25% off, which comes out to $51 each.

Super easy return process for Stitch Fix! I am returning 2 out of the 5 items. Just place items in prepaid enclosed USPS envelope..
And place into any USPS drop box!
You can schedule your next "Fix" as soon as you check out online. Remember, you have 3 days to decide what items you will keep/return, but the sooner you decide, the sooner you can schedule your next Fix! You can schedule regular Fixes to occur as soon as 2-3 weeks (and can cancel at any time).
I scheduled my next Fix for the end of January 2015, so check back then! In the meantime,

Some tips on getting a successful Stitch Fix:
Be specific! You don't get a lot of space, but you can make the most of what they allow you to share. Here's what I wrote for my 1st Stitch Fix:
LIVE IN HAWAII WHERE IT IS WARM YEAR ROUND, BUT TRAVEL A LOT ON COLD AIRPLANES AND TO COLD PLACES. I LOVE SCARVES AND RECENTLY DISCOVERED BLANKET SCARVES. I LOVE LIGHTWEIGHT LAYERING PIECES, ESPECIALLY VESTS! I LOVE BAGS BUT WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM BLACK. I CAN'T WEAR CLOTHING IN THE COLORS MARKED ABOVE (BEIGE, GREEN, TEAL, ORANGE, BURGANDY, YELLOW), BUT CAN WEAR IN ACCESSORIES IF MIXED IN OR ON ITS OWN IN A BAG, FOR EXAMPLE.
I also created a Pinterest board* which helped a LOT, because my stylist was able to find specific items I pinned. Also, be as specific as possible and say what exactly you like about the item(s) in the pin. For example, if you like a sweater in a pin, but don't like the color, etc. Be sure to leave enough room in your request box to include a link to your specific board!
